Use of project method in forest kindergartens

The topic of the thesis is the question of the project method. The aim of the thesis is to describe the potential of the project method and to research the use in pedagogical practise in forest kindergartens. The theoretical part defines the term project, presents the historical and theoretical contexts associated with the creation of the project method, and presents practical procedures for creating projects. The next part of the thesis describes the model of cooperative learning and provides information related to the application of cooperative teaching in pedagogical practice. The thesis describes the concept of forest kindergartens, where the research was carried out. A mixed approach was applied in the practical part. The results of the quantitative research, carried out by a questionnaire survey among teachers, showed that teachers in forest kindegartens include the project method in a targeted manner. They see the main benefits in the overall development of the child's personality. The barriers are time management, team cooperation, and lack of skills in cooperative teaching. The development of fine motor and graphomotor skills in forest kindergartens

Bachelor's thesis deals with the development of fine motor skills and graphomotor skills in the forest kindergartens from the perspective of people who work there. Based on the information provided and from personal experience, a "program" for the development of fine motor and graphomotor skills in the forest and outdoor environment is crated. The theoretical part includets chapters abou the history of forest kindergartens in our country and abroad, their operating conditions and philosophy. The child's motor development with a focus on fine motor skills and graphomotor skills is being discussed and examined with regards to the development of child's graphic expression, work habits, graphomotor exercises and the causes of graphomotor difficulties. The last chapter is examining the natural environment influences on child's development. Practical part is created from the research survey, it includes answered questions related to the aim of this work and a "program" for the development of fine motor and graphomotor skills in the forest and outdoor environment.
Overview of Research Studies on Forest Kindergartens

In the Bachelor thesis the author deals with the topic of forest kindergartens. Nowadays, the topic of forest kindergartens is becoming more and more topical. During the last few years, their number has started to increase both in the Czech Republic and abroad. Parents of young children often consider this alternative to traditional preschool education. This work examines what the authors of selected scientific articles from the Web of Science database on forest kindergartens are focusing on, which countries the published research is from, what are the differences on the topic in the countries examined and what findings the authors of the studies have come to. The bachelor's thesis, following the research, also presents a description of the author's own experience from the ERASMUS+ programme in Denmark, in Aarhus, at VIA University College from the programme "Nature and Social Education" and her own practical experience from a Czech forest kindergarten. Habitual physical activity in Preschool children: Comparison of common Kindergartens and Forest Kindergarten

The aim of the work was to objectively examine the physical activity of children in two different types of preschools, in forest kindergarten and common kindergartens. The theoretical part deals with the characteristic of movement in the preschool children, with factors influencing physical activity, the benefits for this age and the means for measuring objectively physical activity. Research is focused on one particular forest kindergarten. Pedometer was elected for measuring the examined physical activity. According to the results children in the forest kindergarten make more steps during their stay in school as well as overall per day than children in regular kindergartens. Conversely in the afternoon after leaving the nursery they are less active than the children from regular kindergartens. The most prominent difference in the level of physical activity between the two groups of children showed during their stay in pre-school facilities. Forest nursery could be a good alternative to preschool education in terms of sufficient physical activity.
Forest schools in Liberec region

Title: The importance of nature as a learning environment by mapping forest clubs and forest kindergartens in the Liberec region from from the point of view of educators. Objective: The aim of my thesis is to map forest kindergartens and forest clubs in the Liberec region. Further, by using semi-structured interviews to obtain specific information about the operation and educational activities of the forest kindergartens and clubs in the district. Results: Literature about pre-school pedagogy, alternative ways of education, forest kindergartens gave us insights into the topic. From semi-structured interviews that I conducted with various teachers of forest kindergartens or clubs in the Liberec region, I received necessary information. The functioning of forest kindergartens and forest clubs is different in many ways. Opening hours of kindergartens are about 7:00 to 17:00. Their approach to children is inspired by Waldorf and Montessori pedagogy. The timetable of the day differs, but the materials they use are similar and come from nature.
